HIAM ABBASS
Arab Israeli actress and director Hiam Abbass leads an international career that has seen her filming alongside a range of directors, including both French (Cédric Klapish, Patrice Chéreau, Nicolas Saada), American (Steven Spielberg, Julian Schnabel) and British (Ridley Scott, Peter Kosminsky). She is also to be found working alongside Israeli (Amos Gitai) and Palestinian directors (Hany Abu-Assad). In 2012, after making two short films, she director her first feature film: Inheritance. That same year, she was on the jury at the Cannes Film Festival alongside Nanni Moratti.
CLIFF MARTINEZ
Considered to be one of the most important composers for US cinema of recent years, Cliff Martinez first became known as a member of the rock group Red Hot Chili Peppers and was drummer on their first two albums. Since leaving the group in 1986, he has composed for Steven Soderbergh (for whom he has penned the original music for every film), Robert Redford, James Cox and French directors Xavier Giannoli and Nicolas Saada. His recent work for Nicolas Winding Refn’s films Drive and Only God Forgiveshas brought him renewed success.
SYLVAIN ESTIBAL
Journalist, Sylvain Estibal works for Agence France Presse (AFP). He has covered a number of areas, mainly in Latin America where he was born. As a writer inspired by the desert, his novel Le Dernier Vol de Lancaster was adapted for film by Karim Dridi in 2009, starring leading actress and actor Marion Cotillard and Guillaume Canet. When Pigs Have Wings, his first directing role, won him the César award for Best Debut in 2012.
RÉMY OURDAN
Deputy editor-in-chief on Le Monde, since 1992, Rémy Ourdan has covered the main conflicts over the last two decades, notably in the Balkans, Africa, the Middle East and Irak. In 2012, he founded the WARM Foundation, dedicated to the study of contemporary conflicts.
IVAN GUYOT
Senior editor for Canal+ Cinéma, Yvan Guyot is behind the move to open the channel’s programming up to a greater diversity of films. Hence, since 2010, at the helm of the Séance Nouveau Genre programme, he introduces viewers to works taking a fresh look at the norms of genres such as western, whodunit, thriller, sci-fi etc, all with a decidedly modern touch. Always on the lookout for new film discoveries, he is always up to the minute on the latest trends in world cinema.

Actrice et réalisatrice arabe-israélienne, Hiam Abbass mène une carrière internationale qui la fait tourner aussi bien pour des réalisateurs français (Cédric Klapish, Patrice Chéreau, Nicolas Saada) qu’américains (Steven Spielberg, Julian Schnabel) ou britanniques (Ridley Scott, Peter Kosminsky). On la retrouve également auprès de réalisateurs israéliens (Amos Gitai) et palestiniens (Hany Abu-Assad). En 2012, après deux courts métrages, elle réalise son premier long métrage : Héritage. La même année, elle est jury au festival de Cannes aux côtés de Nanni Moretti.

Le Cochon de Gaza, son premier film en tant que réalisateur lui vaut le César du meilleur premier film en 2012.

Rémy Ourdan est journaliste au Monde, correspondant de guerre depuis vingt ans et actuellement directeur adjoint de la rédaction du journal. Il est le fondateur de WARM, une fondation internationale sur les conflits contemporains.

Responsable éditorial de Canal+ Cinéma, Yvan Guyot est à l’origine de l’ouverture des programmes de la chaine à une plus grande diversité cinématographique. C’est ainsi que, depuis 2010, aux rênes de la Séance Nouveau Genre, il emmène les téléspectateurs vers des œuvres revisitant les codes du film « de genre » – western, polar, thriller, SF, etc – d’une patte résolument moderne. Grand découvreur de films, il est en permanence à l’écoute des dernières tendances du cinéma mondial.
